Okay I have been playing piano for 2 years now and the whole time i played by learning from a tutorial. I would like to play be ear so i dont have to use video tutorials any more. Can everyone who knows how to play be ear help me out a bit? Thanks
I have been playing piano for a little over a year now, and play really well by ear, but when it comes to playing from sheet music, I can’t keep my eyes just on the music. I have to constantly look down to find where my fingers are and then I lose my place. Is there a trick to being able to jump around over the keys and not getting lost? Or is it just a lot of practice?

I was listening to David Sides playing piano on youtube just now, and i read the comments that he was playing by ear. Is playing by ear a gift or a skill that you can gradually get better at? can anybody play by ear?
I’m playing guitar pretty good right now, but I figured… It’s kinda easy to learn that if you try, but yet I’ve been playing piano for a year and, while being pretty good (I just figured out two songs by ear), I can’t combine both hands, therefore… I generally have nothing.
